Go find something else"Amos - [Leaves. 5 minutes later, he comes back with the entire roll of toilet paper taken from the toilet]Me - [Breaks down into uncontrollable laughter for about 5 minutes]No, it's not an actual this-is-what-I-did-yay blogpost, I'm too tired to do that. Maybe tomorrow.
This is just a little something I remembered. Weng Keong told me this story while we were doing the Devotion during the first night of the Peer Leaders' Camp. It sorta came back to me today as I was thinking about some spiritual stuff.
There was once a family.
However, where they lived, they were persecuted for their religion - Christianity.
One day, the folks living there "arrested" them. They were told that they could either renounce their faith, or be buried alive. They chose to be buried alive.
As the sand filled the graves, the father began to have second thoughts. He turned to his wife, and asked if she wanted to renounce her faith in God. The wife refused.
Then she asked for her family to sing hymns.
The singing grew softer and softer as they were buried alive. They died.
But do you know what's the beautiful thing about this story?
Firstly, the family went to Heaven, already the greatest reward in itself.
But also...
Everyone present at the burial was so touched by the family's devotion to God that they were all crying. In the end, all of them converted to Christianity.
Faith in God is nice isn't it? Some people out there might not really realize how beautiful this story is. But it touched me immensely the night Weng Keong told it to me. And now, it still hasn't lost any of its...its...wonder. And I hope it never does.
