Auntie Melinda - "Linus, are you ok or not?"Auntie Jem - "Maybe he's in shock."Uncle Richard - "Are you ok? Why are you looking down like that?"Me - "...I'm playing Sudoku on my handphone...Relax..."
Me - "Adeeb, congrats, you beat me for English. I can't possibly beat 44"
Mr Maran - "Linus, your paper."
Me - [Goes up, sees a 52.] "HIIEK!"
Mr Maran - "Are you ok?"
Me - "...Yes..." [Squeal]
Today was a
most splendiferous day!
Chinese results far exceeded expectations. But ultimately, a 69 for Chinese isn't satisfactory at all, which just shows how low my expectations were to begin with ( kissing the ground for one).
English results rocked. I was already congratulating Adeeb on my results. Seriously, I thought that my compo and functional writing were incredibly bad, so it was a major shocker/relief to see a 52 ( 26 for each component ) on my Paper 1. Became super high after I learnt of my oral marks...83.3% for SA 2, 37.8 % for the entire year. That means:
15% of CA1 + 15% of CA2 + 25% of SA1 needs to only exceed 37.2 for me to achieve my A1. Of course, a score of at least 45 for those three would be far better...But...Sigh...
C.O was kind of a bummer though. My sheer stupidity and carelessness in losing the attendance list meant that the CO committee had to be greatly troubled. So, a huge
Sorry goes out to
Ser Yang, Ren An, B
enjamin Lin and
Delson. And due to possible "disclosure issues", I can't possibly talk about what we stayed back for after practice.
AND WE GOT THE VSCO LTC PICTURESSS! GOING TO TOTALLY LOOK AT THEM LATER.
Dinner was truly...unique for me The food was great. The drinks were great. The waitress dropping a tray of bowls and plates behind me ( a bowl bouncing off my spine ) wasn't that great, but to have everyone ( even from other tables ) fussing over me felt kinda nice. For about...30 seconds. Then it was a bit annoying.
But really, the table next to us were celebrating two birthdays. And we just happened to also celebrate Auntie Melinda and Uncle Richard's birthdays too. So it was really nice to see our two tables just sing for each other. Two tables of people, who didn't know each other at all, joked and laughed merrily as if they were life-long friends or something.
*Sigh*. The world can be a wonderful place sometimes
