ARGH!! My previous post got lost! I can't believe it! It had a map, a compass, a satellite, state of the art robots to guide it and it still got lost!!!!
Ah wells...I'm like so totally bored so I'll type another post..
I've been checking out other people's blogs and I must say that they are far more humourous and intellectually-challenging than I expected. For example, both John Cheo and Jafnie Ardie use very very "chim" words in their blog. I do not recognize the words but I do know what they mean since it's easy to find synoyms for those words. However, my 7 remaining brain cells have decided to take a permanent vacation...
::Sniffs...I'll miss you guys...::
Sigh...Tomorrow got Geography test...And my Geo textbook is currently in class 1C, under the 4th table from the front, far left of the class and I'm assuming that you're facing the class. Which means I have to actually think about studying when I get to school tomorrow. Thankfully, I've just realized that the darn school will be conducting the ever-so-useless and obsolete assembly in the Parade Square. I fail to see the point of assembly...After all, the national anthem and pledge can be done in class as demostrated on days without assembly. The school anthem could be done in the same manner if dear xxxxx would take it into his head. That leaves prize-giving. Now, correct me if I'm wrong but I am certain that no one gives a flying f- about prize-giving, especially if you ain't receiving no prize. As for those that are receiving prizes, kiss my ass and cry.
However, this opinion may or may not change depending on the rate that I receive prizes in the future. If this rate comes to a minimum of 2 prizes a day, then I will consider revising this opinion. If not, KISS MY ASS!
[Warning! Long and possibly boring narration follows. I advise that you grab some goodies and a drink because if you plan to read this entire post to very last full-stop, you're gonna need nourishment and hydration...]
Did 9 hours CIP yesterday...Woke up at 6.30, got to Tampines Regional Library ( TPL) at 7.55, 5 minutes before we were suppose to assemble. Met Mervin, Ganesha and Lai Chee Bai-I mean Meng there. Saw DaNiial and EngBaBa after a few split-seconds. I kept trying to push Mervin into the plants. He was like "Aiya, cannot lah...I got Matrix one..Cannot fall down" One hard shove later, his ass was kissing the red flowers. Poor flowers. They have been changed from beautiful bougainvilleas to Rafflesias in the space of 2 seconds. Oh well, win none lose some...
DaNiial was PMSing after we got our bags. EngBaba and I started after him but I discovered that I had three bags...So I ran back, forced Victor to return the extra two bags before taking off after DaNiial again..
DaNiial, being the haughty pussy-head that he is, stalked off to god-knows-where, leaving me and Nicholas stranded in the deserted crowded bus terminal cum ( think straight...) MRT Station. (Un)fortunately, we met up with Kevin, Mervin and Clement and decided to go Bugis together. So we hopped onto a MRT train and were on our merry, noisy and vulgar way to Bugis.
After a long wait on the train made interesting by frequent squabbles, loud cussing and beatings, someone mentioned that we had reached Bugis. Nicholas went " Cannot be lah...No direct train to Bugis". I pointed to the sign outside that read "Bugis" EngBaba flushed...
Bugis was still relatively empty but all of us managed to get a few donations. Mervin, Nicholas and I somehow broke away from Kevin and Clement. Trash-talking and collecting donations, we made our way through the not-busy-not-noisy Bugis before hailing a cab to Orchard.
The taxi driver was sooo kind, offering to take us to Takashimaya where it would be crowded. To make matters better, he did his part for charity by lopping off 80cents from the taxi fare. How sweet..
So anyways...I got separated from Mervin and fats-Nicholas and after a long time of aimlessly walking around and futile attempts at getting pedestrians to donate, I took the MRT back to Serangoon station and went to the market near my house, praying that I had made the correct choice.
Turns out I had since it was still "Market Mode", where people come and go, goods are bought and sold, children are lost and found and I got lots of donations, managing to clear 100 stickers in about 30 minutes. While on my 120+ sticker, coincidence and fate caused a passer-by to donate to me. Upon closer scrutinization of me, the passer-by asked me if I was from VS. I was slightly perturbed as I was wearing the VS PE Shirt with the badge and word " Victorian" emblazoned on the front and back respectively. However, being the nice, sweet, kind, courteous and ettiquette-mindful person that I am *Shoots people vomiting*, I answered "yes"
The passer-by then revealed herself as one of the architects that built the current VS. She and I had a nice long chat, during which people just kept coming up to me and donating. It was all very sweet...All I had to do was say "Oh Thank you very much!", give them a sticker and continued talking. Soon enough, I learnt that the woman, and with probability, her friends considered the completion of Victoria School one of, if not their best, accomplishments. The lady said that it was the biggest and best school they had ever built, complete with hostel, field, mural, grafitti and those little jumping poles that are probably used for safety purposes. But I don't care about safety purposes...If the drivers are not alert enough, they deserve to have their car smashed into a wall and themselves flung into either the wall or a rubbish bin. Hopefully, it will be the second as this will teach them a lesson as well as providing entertainment for me.
Anyways, the woman soon left with her mother, carrying their humongous amount of groceries. By that time, I had a mere 17 stickers left. Suspicion made itself present in my mind. I only remembered taking out two new sticker-papers from my bag which meant I only had 150 stickers. Alas, I took an indifferent attitude, quickly collecting donations and finishing off the 17 stickers. I remained, still collecting donations while pretending to be sincerely and profusely apologizing to passer-bys about the lack of stickers and that I was " just doing my part for charity by collecting more money to help the less fortunate". After that though, I returned home, drank some coke before making my way to Parkway Parade to meet up with Bob, Mervin, Clement, Vikash, Travis and Charlie.
I did not stay at Parkway for long though as I soon departed to Bugis via a taxi with Clement at the request and begging of Herlene. Of course, Herlene had to pay the fare * Insert evil grin*
Anyways...At Bugis, Clement and I talked with Herlene and Nicholas who was with her. DaNiial joined us later and passed me the stickers that I forced him to take for me. We started collecting more donations but the people there weren't as friendly as the ones at the market.
I had a very bad start with donations being few and far in-between. However, a miracle happened as for once, I had children as assistance. The sight of innocuous, angelic children frolicking happily as water from the ground-fountain was sprayed, forming watery arches that lasted a few seconds before falling and splashing on the ground in a flowery wave; it attracted grown-ups. Naturally, I struck when the iron was melting and soon enough, I found that donations were pouring in and the stickers were trickling away like the water from the fountain running into the drains - Pretty damn fast.
It was soon 3.30 and Clement, Nicholas and me made the decison to return to Tampines. We reached our destination at 3.45, still too early to return the donation bags.
There was a fair however at the bus interchange. The voices of stallholders and patrons alike filled the air while the delicious aromas of ba kua, kachang puteh and other delicacies were prominent even in the crowded area. Nicholas and I made our way through the crowd. Rather, Nicholas pretty much barrelled through them while I followed behind, getting the occasional donations.
Nicholas spectulated about the possibility of that being the fair for the upcoming Mooncake Festival. Being ignorant of the date of the aforementioned festival, I merely murmured my agreement before being distracted by ice-cream. As if reading my thoughts, Nicholas voiced his wish to buy ice-cream. Having no objection, I soon found myself with a nice delicious and cold Vanilla Waffle Cone in my hands.
As we strolled aimlessly in the interchange, we met up with Charles, Ganesha, Victor and later, Farhan and Clifford affectionally known otherwise as Bobo. We talked shop while Nicholas searched for a chinese music Cd. Upon failing to find it, he fell into a rather bad mood that lasted for but a minute before he cheered up and we made our way back to TPL where we returned the bags. At first, the supervisors were reluctant to accept the bag. However, after realizing the weight of the bag, they agreed, citing that " at least you collected a lot of money." Little did they know that both Nicholas and me, acting on either Herlene's or Nicholas's advice - I've forgotten whose, had visited the toilet before leaving Bugis. While in the toilet, we squeezed our hands into the bags and pulled out as many notes as possible. Then we went around Bugis, asking shop owners to change our notes into coins. To my disappointment, I was not able to get 10Cent and 20 Cent change for my notes and had to satisfied with $1. As I soon found out however, 10 $1 coins are significantly heavier than 5 $2 notes and provided a noticeable increase in weight...
After the bag was returned, I emptied my black bag of all remaining stickers and took Bus 22 Home, falling asleep on the bus due to exhaustion and nearly missing my stop. I opened my eyes to see the bus about to leave the stop. All bleariness and drowsiness was instantly cleared from my head and I yelled "Stop!" while simultaneously pressing the door bell. As a result, most of the passengers and the bus driver turned to face me, a mixture of annoyance and humour on their face at my outburst.
Blushing, I quickly tapped my EZ-Link card and hopped down the steps. Running the rest of the way home, I quickly took a bath before being willingly mesmerized by the world of Computer Games.
Ah well...That was a nice long and pleasant type...Hope y'all haven't fallen asleep...It's barely 10 p.m but already I'm exhausted. Ah wells...Good Night!
